Mr. Carl Stanley, age 95 of Pine Knot, passed away on Wednesday November 12, 2008 at his home following an illness.
Funeral services were held Friday at 8 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home.
Burial services were Saturday morning at 11 at the Chitwood Cemetery in Winfield, Tennessee.
He was born in Winfield, Tennessee on August 25, 1913. His parents were the late Harvey and Edna Strunk Stanley.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dessie and 3 sons Paul Edward, Tommy Eugene, and Robert Estil. Also by 3 brothers, Ben, Carmel and Jim and a sister, Bessie Owens.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Williams of Florida and a sister, Elsie Crabtree of Winfield, TN. There are 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren also surviving.
Carl was a self employed mechanic and tow truck operator. He owned a service station as well as Stanley's Supermarket.
He served his Lord as a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Winfield, where he was the oldest member of the church.
