Watertown - Barbara G.C. House, 90, Watertown, widow of Edward E. House, passed away Saturday morning December 10th at her home with her family by her side.
The funeral will be 1 pm Monday, December 12th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Marti Montovani, pastor of Stone Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours are 11 am – 1 pm prior to the funeral.
Barbara is survived by two sons Roger (Virginia) House and Thomas (Laura) House, all of Dexter; a daughter Elaine (William) Newkirk, Springwater, NY; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Rosemary Cheeseman Coolidge.
She was born May 19, 1926 in Theresa, a daughter to Clifton B. and Mary Bently Cheeseman. She graduated from Theresa High School in 1943 and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. Barbara was employed as a nurse at Mercy Hospital for 41 years.
Barbara married Edward E. House January 12, 1951 in Alexandria Bay. Mr. House, a retired X-ray and lab technician and assistant administrator for the Jefferson County Home for the Aged (Whispering Pines), Coffeen St., passed away March 27th, 1995.
Mrs. House was a member and past deacon of Stone Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Thousand Island Chapter #154 Order of the Eastern Star.
