Jesus came and took Mr. Wallace Thomas Alexander home Wednesday, August 1, 2018. He was the widower of Barbara W. Alexander.
Mr. Alexander was born in Union, SC April 30, 1931, a son of the late Wallace Tiny Alexander and Jessie Fowler Alexander. He was a graduate of Union High School and Columbia Bible College. Mr. Alexander retired as a manager of Sears and was a Veteran of the US Army having served in Japan during the Korean War. He was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he had previously taught the Tom Alexander Sunday School Class.
Surviving are three daughters: Elisa Grimmer and husband Rod of Dothan, AL, Bonnie Taylor and husband Ed of Charlotte, NC and Connie Kemp of Greer; a son, Tommy Alexander and wife Ann Marie of Union; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosanell Adams and husband Aubrey; a brother, Carroll Alexander and wife Brenda all of Union. Mr. Alexander was predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Adams and Francis Lane and a brother, Alvin Alexander.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Bob Cato. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Rod Grimmer, Ed Taylor, Kent Orr and Harold Eubanks.
The following are asked to serve as the Honorary Escort, members of the Tom Alexander Sunday School Class and the staff and nurses of MSA Hospice.
Visitation will be held 11:00-12:00 noon in the chapel prior to the service.
