Frances (Alexander) Lane, age 85 of Warrenville, SC, widow of Ernest C. Lane died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Aiken Regional Medical Center, Aiken SC.
Born in Chester County, SC, January 25, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Wallace T. Alexander and Jessie (Fowler) Alexander.
A member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church, she retired from the State Hospital in Columbia as a nurses' aid.
Mrs. Lane was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed her family.
Survivors are two daughters: Ernestine Reep of Morganton, NC, and Diane Norton of Columbia; a son, Larry A. Lane of Warrenville, SC; a sister, Rosanell Adams; two brothers: Carroll Alexander and Tom Alexander all of Union; seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lane was predeceased by a sister, Madlyn Adams and a brother, Alvin Alexander.
Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Mr. Tom Alexander and Mr. Aubrey Adams. Burial was in Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers were Tommy Alexander, Jason Davis, Carol Alexander, Jr., Chris Alexander, Ron Adams and Al Adams.
Visitation was held 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service in the chapel.
