SOUTH BEND — Ida Mae Glosson, 89 of South Bend, departed her life at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
Ida was born in Clarksdale, Miss., on Aug. 15, 1923, to John and Susie Glosson.
Ida married Bennie Spates on Dec. 23, 1941, in Clarkdale. He died.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Johnson.
Ida married Willie James Rogers in Mississippi. He died.
Having a strong religious background, Ida united with Sweet Home Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Greater Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons, John (Willetta), Willie (Laurie), Frank, Jessie and Calvin (Jonetta) Rogers; daughters, Rosie Mae (John) Hunt, Mary Rogers, Betty (Robert) Lovingood, Ruby (Earl) Gray of Elkart, Litty Chapman, Vangelean Glosson and Sheena Richmond; 42 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Mae Glosson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Greater Friendship Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to services.
Alford's Mortuary has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
