Catherine Isaacks Ross Benson Rude was born in Mexico in what would become Coahuila Y Tejas which became the Republic of Texas. Her father William Isaacks (Son of Elijah and Ester(Donaho) Issacks)and her mother Sarah Glass were here before "Austin's Old 300" and he added them to his roster to help make the 300 families. Her grandfather Elijah Isaacks is in the Handbook of Texas Online. Catherine was born in Mexico, lived and married while Texas was a Republic, raised her family in Texas as part of the USA, then saw Texas leave the Union and become part of the Confederate States of America, saw it again become a part of the USA. A Texan By Birth. She was married to William Isaacks/Isaacs in Nacogdoches, Texas . They settled in Cherokee County, Texas on land William got from the Republic of Texas for his service. Part of it was given for the Ross-Rude Cemetery which has now been renamed..........William divorced Catherine/Katherine in 1858. She later married Benson and then Rude.

Catherine married William Potter Ross( not Isaacks as she was born an Isaacks). He divorced her and she married James S. Benson who died and she then married Oris Rude. She is my great grandmother five times back. I had written to you several times during the years but never got a reply sadly. Sarah M. Glass Isaacks was Catherine's mother. She is also buried in the old Ross Rude Cemetery. Hoping this finds you still alive and healthy.
