John Adair, 76, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospice House in Gulfport, Mississippi on March 15, 2018 surrounded by his wife and children.

John was born on April 14th, 1941 in Belfast, Ireland to William and Elizabeth (Corrigan) Adair.

At the age of 18, he immigrated to the United States.

He was required to sign up for the military draft and was told it would likely be several months before he was drafted. He was drafted a month later, and promptly sent to Germany after completing AIT. It was quite an adventure for someone who had never traveled outside of his hometown.

After a career in the military, he worked for NASA and then started a retail business with his wife in 1992.

On August 12th of 1963, he married Lucretia Piazza. That marriage ended in divorce. He remarried Yong Sun in 1976.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, William, (Melbourne, Australia), Michael (Belfast, Ireland), four sisters, Sally Dalton (Yorkshire, England), Elizabeth (Colm) Robinson (Gloucestershire, England), Rita Adair (Orlando, Florida), Mary (Ernest) Augustin (Orlando, Florida).

He is survived by three children, Ann Adair, John (Lisa) Adair, Michael (Laurel) Adair, all of Watertown; His five grandchildren: Aaron, Elizabeth, Harold, Tonilynn, and Sean; and one great grandchild, Bryson.

John was an avid reader and passionate historian. He could speak for hours concerning Irish history and folklore. He loved Irish Folk and Classic Country Music. He enjoyed classic films, particularly of the Western genre. He was proud to have served in the United States Army and always spoke fondly about that time in his life.

Burial arrangements will be this summer at the discretion of the family.
