David D. Murr, age 95 of Loudon, Tennessee passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at Park West Hospital. Mr. Murr was a longtime member of Prospect Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving during World War II in the Rome-Arno, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Southern France, Central Europe and Ardennes battles and campaigns. Mr. Murr retired from Union Carbide Corporation with over 30 years of service. Mr. Murr is preceded in death by his parents, David D. Murr, Sr. and Bulah Bisplinghoff Murr; wife of nearly 69 years, Ruby Watson Murr; sister, Alene Murr Lance and brother, Curtis Murr. He is survived by children and spouses, Karen and Harrison Henry of Loudon, Tennessee, Michael and Rosa Murr of Loudon, Tennessee; grandchildren and spouses, Travis and Donna Henry of Maryville, Tennessee, Matt and Amanda Henry, Bell Buckle; great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Isla; sisters, Rella Bates and Connie Barker; several nieces and nephews. Services honoring and remembering Mr. Murr will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Prospect Baptist Church with the Reverend Jason Sweeton and the Reverend Rick Kirkland officiating. Interment to follow in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prospect Baptist Church, 10900 Prospect Church Road, Loudon, TN 37774.
