Loduskie Yarborough was born on August 5, 1914, in Argo. She married her sweetheart the late Wesley Coleman "Bill" Akins on Oct. 7, 1934, and remained a devoted wife for 69 years. For many years, she enjoyed working as a lunchroom manager and caring for the children at Union Chapel Junior High. She loved to fish, bake pies, spend time with her family, plant flowers and work in her gardens. She was a devout Christian, mother, grandmother and friend. She allowed God to shine through her so she could bless others.
Loduskie "Dutch" Yarborough Akins, 94, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 3, 2008. She passed away peacefully at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services Wednesday, November 5, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Thomas Reeves and Mark Lockhart will officiate.
"Dutch" was preceded in death by her father, Richard Monroe Yarborough; mother, Rebecca Eveline Rhodes Yarborough; her husband, Bill Akins; daughter, Evelyn Marie Jones; and siblings, Mertie McCullar, Gertie Hayes, Augusta Akins, Mary Watson, Ed Yarborough, Richard Yarborough, Willie Yarborough and A.W. Yarborough.
