Edna Mae Georgius

Georgius, Edna Mae 79, of Mounds View, passed away on September 21. Beloved wife, sister, "mom", aunt and cherished friend, Edna was the librarian at Fridley High School from 1959 to 1992. She loved her job and doing research, but most of all enjoyed being with the kids. She was a dedicated and passionate librarian, and was interested in each student, often following and staying in touch with them throughout their careers and life events. Retirement years were spent traveling, reading best sellers, quilting, and volunteering at community services.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Duane in 2014. Edna is survived by siblings Beverly Stanco (Robert) and Truman Moulton (Arlene); godson Mark Allen (Robin and daughter Ashley); nephews Michael O'Brien (Suzanne and daughter Harriet), David O'Brien, John Stanco (Debbie, children Myia, Bryan and Brendan), nieces Mary Higgins (Jerry, children Robyn and Erin), Lynn Stanco (Alan Pacific, children Jake and Olivia) and many other special nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

Memorial service will be Friday, October 2, at 11:00 at Salem Covenant Church, 2655 5th St NW, New Brighton, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Reception following the service at the church. Memorials preferred to Minnesota State University Mankato Theatre Department or Friends of Ramsey County Libraries, where Edna was on the Board of Directors.
