Elsie M. Sanford, 91, died Thursday, October 14, 2004, at Serenity Gate of Houston County in Warner Robins, Georgia. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Ms. Sanford was born February 17, 1913, in Pelahatchie. She was a longtime resident of Jackson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Algie E. "Buck" Sanford; daughter, Dorothy Stringer; and son, Edward E. Sanford.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley J. Gambrell and her husband, Wendell Gambrell of Warner Robins, Ga.; sisters, Mary Patterson, Leona Davis, Bessie Watkins, and Jewel Heindl, all of Jackson. Ms. Sanford was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She Is also survived by seven grandchildren, Renee Richardson, Wendy Gray, and Christy Adam, all of Warner Robins, Ga., Bridgett English, Anita Watkins, and Sharon Boeder, all of Jackson, and Eddie Sanford of St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Sanford also had 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
