Born Thursday, October 15, 1942 in Jonesboro, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Irris F. Austin and Alice O. Walker Austin; son, Howard Pardue, Jr.; and brothers, Johnny, Felix, Homer, and Freddy Austin.
Brenda’s Chicken Inn is a fixture in Winnfield and has been serving Winn Parish and the residents of surrounding parishes for almost 40 years. Mrs. Brenda was a devout Christian and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She never met a stranger, was very generous and always willing to help anyone. Mrs. Pardue loved the Lord, as well as her community, family, and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, Howard Pardue; son, Dennis Pardue (Alaina); daughter, Stacy Pardue Moreau (Brian); granddaughter, Chelsey Shumaker (Nahan); grandson, Tanner Pardue; grandson, Brenton Smith (Lynsey); grandson, Bradley Smith (Ashley); granddaughter, BreAnne Smith; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Jonathan Shumaker.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at The Family Church, from 1:00 PM until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at The Family Church with Reverends Norris Curry, Robert Franks, and Bobby Bates officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories, in Winnfield.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Fred Rison, Jamey Maxwell, Thomas Ray Berry, Tim Simons, Glynn Longino, and Chance Guilliams
