Irris F. Austin, age 76, of Hodge died Thursday night, November 19, 1987 in the Humana Hospital in Winnfield after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 21, 1987, in the Chapel of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield with Rev Durell Davis conducting the services. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery near Dodson under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Austin was a member of the Central Missionary Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Survivors include three sons, Felix Austin of Winnfield; Homer Austin of Jonesboro and Freddie Austin of Orange, Texas; five daughters, Mrs. Brenda Pardue of Winnfield; Mrs. Betty Fuller of Eros; Mrs. Sally Harvey of Jonesboro; Mrs. Shirley Dark of Bastrop and Mrs. Mary Torres of Pensacola, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Mrtile [sic Martiel] Edwards of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Lucille Trulock of Haughton; one brother, Alvie Austin of Hodge; thirty-one grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren

Pallbearers were Ronnie Tolar, Richie Tolar, Rusty Tolar, Chris Trulock, Gary Austin and Donald Austin.
