Mrs. Roy Bogan, a bride of five months, committed suicide at Dale last week by taking carbolic acid. Death resulted in thirty minutes after taking the drug. The young lady was married to Roy Bogan last January, and desertion by her husband is said to have been the cause of her taking her life. They each taught school near the same place, five miles from Dale, going and returning together morning and afternoon.
Two weeks ago the husband went out as if going to bring the cows home and has not been seen since and his whereabouts have been unknown to this young wife, although a letter has been received by his parents from him, which was mailed on the train. She was refused by his parents to be allowed to read this letter nor would they tell her as to where her husband was located.
Mrs. Bogan was a most vivacious and pleasant young lady of 26 years of age and was popular. She was an excellently educated lady and held first grade certificates, from both Kentucky and Oklahoma.
The deceased was a sister of J.A. Johnston of Dale.—Tecumseh Republican.
