Margaret Oldham Shelton, formerly of Florence, Alabama, died in a LaFayette, GA nursing home on August 28.2018. She was 96 years old. She was born in Adamsville, TN Aug. 12, 1922 to James Malcolm and Gertrude Droke Oldham. Margaret was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and worked in the children's department tending the babies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters, her husband, Warren Leo Shelton and her daughter, Janis Elaine Brock. A long-time resident of Florence, Alabama she is survived by a son, Phillip Wayne Shelton (Jane), Granddaughters, Margaret Forester of LaFayette, GA, Julia Shelton Beckwith of Athens, GA, and 4 great-grandchildren; Jessica Forester of Arlington, TX, Shelton Forester, Cecilia and Charles Forester of LaFayette, GA.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Greenview Funeral Home.
