A maker of hammer handles and living at 1206 6th Avenue North in Nashville, he was 52 years old and married when he died of cirrhosis of the liver on May 8, 1945 at Nashville General Hospital where he had been for two weeks. Burial was the next day in Jackson Cemetery {aka White Bluff Cemetery} in White Bluff.
