Pearl Thacker was born to Sarah Jane Price and Frederick Albert Thacker. Pearl was sixteen years old when her mother died, she lived with Isabelle and John Moulton for about one year, while working in Heber City. The next year she went to Chapin, Idaho where her Aunt Rachel and Uncle Al Penfold were living.
She was married to Walter John Germann, son of Alfred C. Germann and Julia Neider, on April 13, 1908 at the age of 20, in St. Anthony, Idaho. They made their home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where she gave birth to 9 children; Walter Garfield, Alfred Frederick, Pearl, Lora Hazel, Archabald Lamar, Oliver Reed, Cecil Irvin, Fae Inez and Ronald Phil.
After a stormy marriage, Pearl and Walter were divorced.
Later she married Archey Russell on January 3, 1936. Pearl married third Claude Murdock on December 13, 1954.
Pearl died August 11, 1979, at the age of 90, in a nursing home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She always had a good sense of humor, a visit with her was always accompanied with plenty of laughter.
