Howard M. Hockett of 724 New Jersey Street, West Palm Beach, Florida, died December 9, 1957, at a local hospital after a long illness. He was a retired grocery store operator who moved to West Palm Beach from Denver, Colorado, in 1929.
He was born January 4, 1884, in Rooks County, Kansas, the son of Nathan M. and Avaline (Crosbie) Hockett. On November 24, 1908, he married Cora Ann Magerkurth in Cedar Township, Lee County, Iowa. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
He was survived by his wife, Cora; a daughter Jean Toth; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Mizell-Simon-Faville Funeral Home with the Rev. Andrew W. Blackwood officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
