Despite the clearly stated military service on the tombstone, no record of service with the 3rd Alabama Infantry was found for anyone named Boker or Baker Jackson or anything similar to it. The 3rd Alabama Infantry did fight at Gettysburg and there were three men named Jackson in the regiment, but none had either a first or middle name beginning with "B." I have also searched the rosters of any Confederate regiment with a man by this name but have come up empty, even searching for Jackson Boker or Baker on the off chance that his names were reversed.
