Funeral services for Mrs. J. Ellis Chance, 83, of Hornbeck were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Anacoco First Baptist Church in Anacoco the Rev. D.R. Davis and Rev. E.J. Bradshaw officiated. Burial followed at Prewitt's Chapel in Hornbeck under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
She passed away on Monday, April 30, 2007 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville. She was preceded in death by her son, Scot Chance of Hornbeck. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wesley D. "Dub" Chance of Hornbeck; son David Chance of Hornbeck, grandchildren, Kimberly Chance Dickinson, Wendy Chance, Mark L. Chance, Misty Chance and Lisa Chance; five great-grandchildren.
