Services were Tuesday, March 4, at 3 p.m. at Albertville Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Todd officiating. Burial followed at Rice Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 17, 1930, to Rufus and Pearl Marsh Rice . His father died at an early age, leaving several younger children and Carl helped his mother raise them.
After he was grown, he served in the military service during the Korean War. When he came home, he worked in Hammond, Ind. Later, he worked in the Boaz Spinning Mills and, after the mill, he worked for the City of Albertville as maintenance supervisor until he retired.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Woods Rice ; mother, Pearl Mable Marsh Rice ; father, Rufus Rice ; daughter, Marla Jean Rice ; grandson, Cody Rice ; brothers, O.A. Rice , Leo Rice , Keith Rice and Billy Rice ; sisters, Kitty Duet, Othel Moore, Jewel D. Ogle and Allene Tucker.
Pallbearers were Doug Tucker, Chuck Moore, Jason Blair, Charles Rice , Chris Rice and Blake Blair.
