Born to Allen D. and Lina Mae Willis Blankenship in Boncar, West Virginia, Evelyn Eileen Burke, a resident of Marion's Morning View Nursing Home, died in Marion General Hospital on Monday, October 6, 2003. She was 82 years old.
She married Herbert Burke on Sept. 9, 1938. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1971 in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Mae Burke in 1991.
A member of the Freewill Baptist Church, she was a retired laborer with the former Holiday Inn in Marion.
She is survived by three sons and six daughters; 31 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
