Mr. Charles Cox, 73 of Sylvester, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his residence.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jackie Cabaniss and a close friend of the family, Mr. Scott Story will officiate.
Mr. Cox was born on June 5, 1945 in Worth County to the late Pollis Cox and Rosa Lee Carroll Cox. He had lived in Worth County all of his life. Mr. Cox retired from Alcon Associates of Albany as a Superintendent. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time and providing for his family. Mr. Cox was a devoted and faithful member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carol Jane Newell Cox; children, Marie Cox Garrett (Bob), Lawson Cox (Debbie); grandchildren Parker Barwick (Ashley), Peyton Barwick, Corey Cox (Kayla), Gabe Cox, Zach Cox, Daniel Eubanks, (Ashlynn), Tiffany Eubanks, Carson Garrett, Justin Hartsfield (Lori), Tal Hartsfield and Jerica Holloway (John); 9 great grandchildren; sister, Hazel Belflower; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Cox Eubanks, and siblings, Nadline Bass, Clayton Cox, Tom Cox and Helen Garrett.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
