Obituary from The True Northerner (Paw Paw, Van Buren, Michigan, United States of America) 28 Mar 1888, Wed Page 5

Died, in Bloomingdale township, on Thursday, the 22d, Mr. Henry Mower, aged 84 years. Mr. Mower was one of the oldest settlers of Bloomingdale, having located there in 1840. It was said at the funeral that he was the first settler of that town but that was a mistake as the Myers brothers settled there in 1837. Mr. M. (sic) was a widower with four children, three of whom live in Arkansas and the fourth, although married, living at home and caring for her father. Funeral services were held at the church here on the 24th, Elder Walker officiating. Buried at the Robinson cemetery.
