Mrs. ARVELLA BLACK JACKSON is the daughter of John Wesley Black and Mrs. Theola Bolden Black.

She is the wife of Wiley Jackson.

Obituary | "Tuesday Rites -- Funeral services for Mrs. Arvella Jackson are to be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Saint Paul Baptist Church, with the Rev. E.B. Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery at Ore City. She died of a heart attack on November 11 at her home at 405 West Merritt Street in Marshall. She was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church for 35 years. She was a member of the grand Court Order of Calanthe and a member of the Texas-Louisiana Usher Association. The body is at Hayward Funeral Home, and will lie in-state at the Saint Paul Baptist Church from 12 noon until 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be brothers of the E.P. Lodge and City Ushers. Survivors include her father, John Wesley Black; her husband, Wiley Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Tessie Mae Porter, of Atherton, California, and Mrs. Bessie Butler, of Longview; one daughter; Mrs, Patsy R. Alford, of Compton, California; three stepchildren: Beavin Jackson, of California, Archey Jackson, of Galveston, Texas, and Wiley Floyd Jackson, of Los Angeles, California; and 14 grandchildren."

Her daughter was the informant on the death certificate.

Arrangements under the direction of S.S. Hayward and the funeral directors with Hayward Funeral Home.
