Anne S. Parker passed away February 18, 2016 in San Diego, California after a brief illness caused by a liver/kidney infection. Anne was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Marion and James E. Steele. Her parents divorced and her mother remarried Warren Gilmer. Anne grew up with step brothers Richard and Robert in New York, Seattle and Burlingame, CA. She graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. She moved to SLC after graduation, living with her father and step mother, Caroline, and step brother Hardin A. Whitney. In 1952 she met Norton Parker and after a short courtship they were married on December 26, 1952. They were happily married for 64 years. They traveled extensively and maintained homes at various times in Park City, Whidbey Island in Puget Sound, San Carlos, Mexico and finally San Diego, CA. Anne served on the board of the SLC Girl Scout Council, was a docent at Hogle Zoo and was a member of the Junior League of SLC and the Town Club, serving on various committees. Her great love was her children, grandchildren, her friends and bridge games in that order. She escorted each of her grandchildren as they grew up in tours of Washington D.C. to view the legislative processes and the various monuments around Washington. She is survived by her husband, three children, and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son James Kevin Parker.
