James Gibbs was a native of the state of Michigan, and lived there for the early part of his life. Later he moved to Arizona for a few years, and also Washington state. James passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, in Centerville, South Dakota, where he had resided for the last fourteen years of his life. James worked for many years for General Motors, at the Detroit Diesel Allison Division in Redford, Michigan. James was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Gloria Johns, a longtime companion of James, preceded him in death in August of 2007. James was an extremely fine man, honest to a fault and a most genuine individual. It was a pleasure to know him. He is well-remembered, and sorely missed by his family and friends.
