The funeral for Esther Katherine Cook of Northeast Portland will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Ross Hollywood Chapel. Private entombment will be in the Rose City Cemetery Mausoleum.
She died of causes related to age Saturday in a Gresham care center. Mrs. Cook was 84.
She was born Esther Katherine Helzer on March 6, 1909, in Portland and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a graduate of Kennedy Grade School.
She married Lavene Cook in 1934 in Portland. Mrs. Cook , a homemaker, worked in the credit department of the Meier & Frank Co. stores from 1951 to 1955.
Her husband died in 1981.
Survivors include her daughter, MonaLee M. Nafts of Welches; her sister, Flora VonPoppenheim of Portland; one granddaughter; and six great-grandchildren.
