CHEBOYGAN - Lois E. MacDougall, age 97 of Cheboygan passed away on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004 at the Extended Care Unit of Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. She was born March 11, 1907 in Curtis, Mich., to Floyd B. and Jessie M. (Walkup) Norton. On July 17, 1927 in Petoskey, Lois married John MacDougall, who preceded her in death in 1985. Lois was a former member of the Munro Township and Inverness Township school boards and enjoyed reading, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include six children, Betty (Gerald) Cool of Cheboygan, Alice (Roger) Dutilly of Florida, Lois MacDougall of Florida, Shirley (Dennis) Hutchinson of Topinabee, Carol (Britton) Parker of Florida and Jack MacDougall of Florida; two brothers, Leland (Irene) Norton of Houghton Lake, Mich., and Wayne (Ramona) Norton of Utah; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her parents; four children, Doris, Tom, Floyd and Frank; three sisters, Elta Erskine, Shirley Stilzenbauer and Oris Wonsitler; and one brother, Raymond Norton.
Visitation will be conducted from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 6, 2004, at the Christian Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Al Sundberg officiating. Interment will be in Bliss Township Cemetery.
