Jacob was involved in the 1st run and staked a claim near Guthrie, Oklahoma. He sold his claim near Guthrie, Oklahoma and moved to Lincoln Co., Oklahoma after his 2nd wife, Lucinda Comer Christy, and their son Michael Oklahoma Christy died.
Alice's son, Lon, as he was called, continued to live with his Grandpa Christy. In his later years, Lon told this about his grandpa's death. "Grandpa Christy had just started out of the house with a rocking chair. Me and Neal were down by the barn and saw him fall." He is buried in Kellerby cemetery, west of Arlington. After Jake's death, the family attempted to stay together on the farm. One by one the older ones left and the younger ones went to live with Jake's brother, George, who had homesteaded southeast of Warwick, near what is now Star Valley cemetery.
