Mr. Barb, who was aged about 74 years, had a stroke of paralysis about a month ago, from which he never fully recovered, and which was the immediate cause of his death.
He was a native of Eastern Virginia, but came to this county in 1866, settling in the above named place, where he has since resided until the time of his death.
He was the father of eight children - 3 daughters and 5 sons, W. H. Barb, Esq., of this place, being one, who with an aged wife survive him.
Deceased was a life-long member of the Presbyterian church, was a good citizen, and had the respect and esteem of all who knew him.
