Richard A. Colby of Pawtucket, RI died on August 9, 2003. Born in Pawtucket, on September 2, 1939, son of the late Gordon Leonard Colby and the late Dorothy Amanda (Brierley) Colby.

Husband of Edna P. (Fagnant) Colby for 38 years, father of Major Glenn A. Colby, Sr., Rocky Hill, CT; and Linda S. Colby of Virginia. Grandfather to James B. Gordon, Jr of Virginia and Glenn A Colby, Jr of Rocky Hill, CT.

Survived by two brothers, David L. Colby of Germantown, TN; Ronald L. Colby of Pawtucket and two sisters, Donna M (Colby) Leite of North Kingstown, RI and Deborah M Colby of East Providence, RI and several nieces and nephews.

Brother of the late Beverly Ann (Colby) Moody and the late Bruce Adams Colby, Sr.; half-brother of the late Donald Herbert Colby of Chatham, MA.

He lived in Pawtucket, RI all his life and attended schools in Pawtucket. He graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.S. in Education and a M.S. in Education. Retired member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, retired vocational teacher of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School 2001. Retired member of United Brotherhood of Carpenter's Union #90. Member of the Pawtucket Elks #920, B.P.O.E. Member of the American Legion Post #14 in Cumberland, RI.
