She was born Jan. 10, 1936, in Lowell, Mass., and was raised in Cambridge, Mass. by Mr. and Mrs. Barnes, where she worked as a nurses aid and married Les King on May 22, 1965, in Waltham, Mass. In 1982 they moved to McAlester from Ellenwood, Ga., where she worked as a nurses aid and a caretaker until her retirement in 2000. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed attending garage sales, collecting knick knacks and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Les King, of the home; a stepdaughter, Teresa Wilson and husband, Tommy, of Shawnee; two sisters-in-law, Sue Goddard, of Wakita, and Wilma Davidson and husband, Ed, of Bugtussle. Also, two brothers-in-law, Rudy King, of Indianola, and Allen King and wife, Dawn, Bellingham, Wash.; mother-in-law, Ellen King, of Krebs, and numerous nephews and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Marvin Dunn officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
