Bernice Land Anderson, 75 of Hatchechubbee, AL passed away Saturday February 12, 2011 in the comfort of her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am CST, 12:00 noon EST Tuesday at Hatchechubbee Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Gilboy officiating according to Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Interment will follow at Hatchechubbee United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening (Monday) from 5 to 7 pm CST, 6 to 8 pm EST at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Donnie Plotner, Steve Graham, Herman Kizzie, Jeff Smith, Johnno Plotner and Jimmie Kizzie.
Mrs. Anderson was born August 2, 1935 in Holmes County, FL and was the daughter of the late Riley S. Land and Gladys Phillips Land. She was retired from Sun Trust Bank and was a member of the Hatchechubbee Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Land.
She is survived by her loving husband, James F. Anderson of Hatchechubbee, AL; one daughter, Pam Anderson Simpson and husband Tim of Hatchechubbee, AL; one son, James W. Anderson and wife Carla of Hatchechubbee, AL; sister, Gail O'Kelley and husband Frank of Tallahassee, FL; two brothers, Billie Land and wife Beth of Tallahassee, FL and Gene Land and wife Cathy of Monroe, NC; sister-in-law, Jean Land of Nashville, TN; Grandchildren, Angela Dawson (Daniel), Jonathan Simpson, Jacob Anderson and Josh Anderson; four step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Hatchechubbee Baptist Church.
