Mrs. Hallie Jeffers, 64 years old, died at the home of her son, Leonard Byrd, near Azalia, last night, about 6 o'clock. Mrs. Jeffers was seriously injured four weeks ago today when she jumped from her son's automobile, which she believed was on fire. In the fall to the ground, her hip was broken and she was otherwise hurt. These injuries hastened her death. Mrs. Jeffers and her son had been to this city and were going home and were near the William H. Newsom farm when the accident occurred.

The family formerly lived in Kentucky and moved to their present home on the Willis Newsom farm about two months ago. Besides the son, Mrs. Jeffers leaves three other children, Mrs. Seth Williams, of Glasgow, Ky.; Mrs. Joe Purdue and Mrs. Lewis Turner, of Ogilville. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at Azalia with burial in the New Harmony cemetery
