BLUEFIELD — Lillian Richardson Bourne, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016, at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born October 2, 1932, in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Ella Richardson. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by husband Steve Bourne, Sr., granddaughter Jamie R. Bourne, brother Jack Richardson, sisters Virginia Wysor and Rona Richardson, and daughter-in-law Roxanne Bourne.

Survivors include her sons: Steve Bourne Jr. and wife Vicki of Bluefield, VA, Rick Bourne and David Bourne of Bluefield, WV; six grandchildren: Ryan Bourne and wife Leah of Williamsburg, VA, Hillary Griffin and husband Wynne of Tampa, FL, Jeremy Bourne and wife Christina of Bluefield, WV, Joshua Bourne and wife Lisa of Abingdon, VA, Kathleen Elswick and husband Chase of Bluefield, VA, and Holly Bourne of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren: Brady Griffin, Cannon Elswick, Mehala Bourne, Derbin Bourne, Sarah Griffin, Grace Bourne, and Micah Bourne; brother Jim Richardson (Barbara) of Bluefield, WV, and sister Elizabeth Blanchard (Bill) of Mineral, VA; and sister-in-laws Maxine Bourne of Bluefield, WV, and Jamie "Boots" Richardson of Lindale, TX.

Lillian was a godly woman with a strong Christian faith, and a faithful member of the East End Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV. She was devoted to her family, and was always there to uplift and comfort them. Lillian received great pleasure in baking and decorating birthday and wedding cakes for all members of the family, and for many others throughout the years. She was blessed with artistic talent, and loved to draw, paint, decorate, and make crafts.

Active in the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) through the GFWC Bluewell Woman's Club for more than 30 years, Lillian served as Club President, in other executive offices, and as chairman of various club committees. Her club work gave outlet to her particular artistic talents. She was currently serving as chairman of devotions for the club. In the 1998-2000 GFWC-WV Administration, she served as chair of the State Project, "West Virginia-Timeless Traditions."

Services to celebrate the life of Lillian Bourne will be conducted at 1:00pm, Friday, November 11, 2016, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, 3431 Coal Heritage Road, Bluefield, WV, with the Reverend Chad Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30am until the service hour on Friday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the East End Baptist Church, Bluefield, WV.
