"In 1834, Mr. Peerce was married to Louisa Smith, a widow, whose maiden name was also Smith, and who was the daughter of Job Smith, a very prominent citizen of Baltimore, and a descendant of one of the original settlers of the city. By her he had five children, four sons and one daughter. One of the sons is dead; the others are Edward S., George, and Thomas Peerce."
