Born in New Bedford a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Paiva) Souza she had been a life long resident of New Bedford. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, New Bedford. Mrs. Cordeiro enjoyed knitting, going to flea markets and antiquing but most of all spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons: Manuel Cordeiro and his wife Janice of Fairhaven and Robert Cordeiro and his wife Lisa of Rochester; two brothers: Manuel Souza of Fairhaven and Henry Souza of Dartmouth; three sisters: Anna Guy of Lakeville, Cecelia Macedo of New Bedford and Izara Pires of Fairhaven; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Blackette.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 9:00 A.M. from the KIRBY FUNERAL HOME, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4256 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, New Bedford.
