"Thomas Kingsley Forster, farmer, Rivoli Township, Mercer County; born in Harrison County, Ind., Dec. 3, 1838.... Removed with his parents to Knox County,Ill., in 1848, and to Rivoli Township, Mercer County, in 1851, where, with the exception of three years, he has since lived [1903]. In the spring of 1864 he removed to Ottawa, Kan., where he saw active service in Kansas and Missouri as Second Lieutenant in Company L, Ninth Kansas Regiment, State Militia. Returned to Mercer County in 1866. Politically he is a prominent Democrat and has been a member of the Democratic County Central Committee twelve years; also School Director for many years. Married Feb. 27, 1862, to Mary Lucinda daughter of Charles and Sarah (Caphart) Mundy, who came from Kentucky to Knox County in 1852, and to Rivoli Township about 1856."
