Ida D. Biros, 100 of Streator passed away Friday evening (December 14th) at Heritage Health, Streator.

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 – 7 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Burial will be in the Phillips Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alex Reinmann, Jim McLaughlin, Tom, Chad and Bill Lynch and Tim Rowe.

Ida was born on July 27, 1918 in Ransom to William T. and Rosalia (Weth) Lynch. She married Lloyd Snyder on March 12, 1942. He died on June 18, 1952. She later married Frank Biros on May 28, 1955. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1974.

Surviving are grandchildren; Tracie (Mike) Walkling of Ransom, Jeremy (Tiffany) Biros of Plainfield, Brian (Angie) Biros of Streator, Shae (Jordan) Poulos of Montgomery, Alyce (Nick) Walker of Palmdale, CA and Alex Reinmann (Maddie), a great-grandson Joe Snyder, many great-granddaughters, a sister-in-law Lillian Lynch of Bridgeview and several nieces and nephews.

Ida is preceded in death by 2 sons Lloyd Snyder and Gerald Biros, grandchildren Travis, Shane and Jayne Snyder, great-grandson River Biros, brothers, James, Arthur, William and John, sisters Marie and Genevieve Lynch and Irene Garrett, and many special relatives and friends including longtime neighbor Frannie Pohlod.

She attended the Ransom Grade School and Cornell High School. Ida retired from Owens Illinois Glass in 1984 and was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Church and the former St. Anthony’s Church, Owen’s Golden Emblem Club and the GMP retires Thatcher and Owens Branch #9.

Ida had a one of a kind strength and independence. She was selfless in every situation and always put her friends’ and family’s needs ahead of her own. We love her, miss her, and cherish the memories we were blessed to have with her.

Memorials may be made to the St. Michael the Archangel School.
