Sunrise January 3, 1925 Sunset September 3, 2007 Willie Jackson was born to Nook and Nannie Brown Jackson in Wharton, Tx. He grew up and attended public school in Wharton. His childhood church attendance was at Little Concord Baptist Church of Wharton. In his early adulthood travel, he chose to settle, work, and live in Corpus Christi. He met and married Deloris Evelyn Harvey. They reared six children during their busy lives. He attended First Calvary Baptist Church and later was baptized and added to the Church of Christ on Blake Street that relocated to Hillcrest Church of Christ where he remained a member. He was a business owner from 1963-1973 and enjoyed serving customers at his Conoco Oil, Gulf Oil, Phillips 66, Arco Oil service stations over 20 years. His gas station customers were loyal and loved his friendliness and "big smile" always. He opened as a General Manager of the newest Dairy Queen in his neighborhood on Greenwood Dr. in the late 70's. He and his wife had a Breakfast Cafe on Carver Drive in the early 60's. He retired from Olson and Kessler Meat Company. He volunteered and worked in the Molina community as one of Ramona Drive's "Neighborhood Watch" Block Directors. He departed this "earthly life for eternal life" on Monday, September 3, 2007 and leaves to cherish him in memories: three sisters, Rosa Bell Anderson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ozie Armstrong and Iola Pendagraph of Wharton, Texas; two brothers, Cleophus Jackson of Wharton, Texas and Elbert Jackson of Victoria, Texas; six children: Irelant Jackson (wife, Irma) of Missouri City, Texas, Beverly Fisher (husband, Herbert) of Rowlett, Texas, Julie Barnes (husband, Johnny) of Danbury, Connecticut, Willie Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Linda Campbell-Jackson and Farrow Jackson of Corpus Christi, Texas. He cherished eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. Willie was blessed to be loved by a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 1:00 p .m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
