Ann Thomas, wife of David Thomas, of Greenfield, near Mossley, was born on January 7th, 1814, at Oldham.
Ann and David Thomas married on Christmas Day 1837.
Ann gave birth to a baby girl on Christmas Eve 1838.
Two or three days later Ann suffered an attack of Puerperal Fever.
The child was taken away by the father to relatives in Oldham.
On her deathbed Ann requested that the child be brought back to her, but this request proved too late, soon afterwards Ann fell asleep.
Ann was buried at St Peter’s Church, in Oldham on 22 January 1839.
She was 25 years old.

Ann Thomas was a religious zealot. Her memoir's are written in the 1839 book
"Memoir's of Several Eminent Christians, Lately Members of the Methodist New Connection, Mossley Circuit"
by Joseph Barker.
