On the night of May 13th, 2007 John was called home to his loving wife and sweetheart, Willy. He was 81 years old at the time of death and passed away in Salt Lake City of a heart aliment. He resided at 111 South Hillside Garden Drive (300 East) in North Salt Lake, Utah at the time of his death.

John (Johan) was born on July 16th, 1925 to Cornelis and Jentje Van Weezep in Groningen, The Netherlands.

After a conversion to the L.D.S. faith, John immigrated to America leaving family and friends in January of 1951. In 1953 he was called to the Frankfurt, Germany Mission, where he served faithfully.

On June 25th, 1958 John married the love of his life Wilhelmina (Willy) Flink in the Salt Lake Temple and they had 48 wonderful years together. He was a very loving, caring Husband, Father, and Grandfather and his family meant the world to him. He was one who, no matter the circumstances, would be there when he said he would. John was a lifelong Genealogist and worked for the L.D.S. Church. His love of history, family, and languages coupled with an excellent memory was a great benefit to many searching for their ancestry. John served faithfully and diligently in many positions of responsibility within the L.D.S. Church. His great love and joy was to have been called and set apart as a Sealer in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples where he was able to perform ceremonies for over 35 years.

Funeral services were held Thursday May 17th at 11:00 am at the Orchard 13th Ward Chapel, 261 East Center Street, North Salt Lake. Viewings were held at the Church on Wednesday May 16th from 7 - 8:30 pm and from 9:45 - 10:45 am Thursday prior to the funeral service.
Interment was at the Lakeview Memorial Estates, 1640 East Lakeview Drive in Bountiful, Utah.
His Beloved Wife passed away on February 12, 2006.
REST IN PEACE.
