SNOW HILL - Chrystal Sutton Beaman, 97, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019. A native of the Bucklesberry Community of Lenoir County, she was born June 14, 1921, the daughter of John Milton and Delilah Creech Sutton. Upon marriage to her late husband, John Broughton Beaman, she made her home in Greene County. A consummate homemaker, she cherished her role as a wife, mother and grandmother. In 1945, she joined the First Baptist Church of Snow Hill and had remained an active member until declining health limited her attendance and involvement in the church and its ministries.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Beaman was preceded in death by sisters, Rosalie Smith and Edith Smith; and a brother, Carl Sutton.
Her surviving family includes her sons, Donald Beaman and wife Betty, and Milton Beaman and wife Bim, all of Snow Hill; a sister, Charlotte Jones of Kinston; grandchildren, Joseph Beaman of Winterville, Lee Beaman and wife Shannon, Adam Beaman and wife Casey, and Amy Perry and husband Chris, all of Snow Hill, Sarah Skinner and husband Cory, and Amanda Beaman, all of Morehead City; and eight great-grandchildren. Additional survivors are her devoted caregivers, Vivian Blalock and Tammy Gay.
Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Sunday, January 13th, at the First Baptist Church of Snow Hill with Pastor David Sawyer officiating. Committal Services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 14th, at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
