Funeral Services were held Monday, January 21, 2019 at 2:00pm at Glenwood Friends Meeting with Rev. Tim Grant, officiating. The family will received friends from 1:00-1:45pm prior to the services at the church, and other times at the home. Interment followed at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian with Military rites.
Mr. Andrews was born in Alamance County, on June 14th, 1930. He served in the US Army and retired from the USPS in 1990. He served faithfully as Sunday School Superintendent and Elder at his church. Mr. Andrews loved his wife of 57 years and family. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden and sharing the fruits of his labor.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Herman & Ava Teague Andrews; wife Uyvonne Smith Andrews, grandson Andrew Stamper, 2 brothers & 5 sisters.
Survivors included daughters, Gwen Spiggle (John) of Morganton, Carla Stamper (Steve) of Greensboro; son Max Andrews (Sherry) of Greensboro; grandchildren David (Emily), Matt, Ben, and Sean; great-grandchildren Ethan & Charlotte; brother Arnold Andrews. The family would also like to give a special thanks to his home Caregivers.
