When she attained young womanhood she was united in marriage to G. Hess, of Decorah and to them were born two children, a son Edward, and a daughter, Clara, after a few short happy years together, Mr. Hess passed into the world beyond leaving the bereaved widow and children to mourn his loss.
After some years Mrs. Hess was married to Geo. Mott, also of Decorah, to them was born one daughter, Ruth. Mr. Mott preceded her in death of about four years. Since this time she has been ailing off and on. Though she suffered lots she never complained. Being a kind and good woman, and a beloved mother in her home a sweet memory will always linger in the hearts of those whom she was dear to also her many friends.
She leaves besides her children to mourn her loss, two sisters, Julia, Mrs. G. Carlson, Decorah, Helen, Mrs. Ole Arneson, Pleasant, and three brothers, Ole, Minneapolis, Sever, Pleasant and Henry, Decorah and an aged father, who resides in Pleasant. Her remains were laid to rest on Wednesday beside those of her late husband. The heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones.
