He was the beloved husband of 62 years to June L. (Hartman) Bailey.
Born June 12, 1933, in Shrewsbury, he was a son of the late Luther V. and Lestie (Ness) Bailey.
As a young man, Dick served his country for 2 years as a volunteer at Norristown Mental Hospital and later retired after a long career with Johnson Controls.
He was an avid fan of Penn State, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Baltimore Colts.
He also enjoyed racing and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan.
Dick also loved to play sports, especially baseball, softball and bowling.
Additionally, he loved to hunt and spend time at the beach.
Most of all, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Bailey is survived by 4 children, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 1 sister, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
A funeral service to celebrate Dick's life will be held on Monday, February 4th at 11 am at Codorus Church of the Brethren; 1129 Dunkard Valley Rd., Dallastown.
A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Monday from 9 am until the time of the service at the church.
Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
