Martha Spear Wade was the daughter of Arnold Call Spear and Matilda James. Matilda was full-blooded Wiyot Indian, a tribe in California. Martha married James Allen in Humboldt Co., California and came with him to Clallam Co. WA to join the Puget Sound Co-op. They had four children together, Lucy Alfreda, Cora, Ethan and Arnold. They eventually divorced and she remarried to Joseph Presley Wade Sr. and had two children together, Joseph Presley Wade Jr. and my grandmother, Yerva Marie Wade.
