Patrick Leonard Miles, 86, formerly of Harlan Avenue, died Tuesday [May 22, 1990] at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He was a native of St. Francis and a retired brakeman for the old Louisville & Nashville Railroad, where he worked for 40 years. He was a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Victory Memorial Senior Citizens Club and Old Rail Club. Survivors: five daughters, Clara Coke of Albuquerque, NM; Lenora Baurle of Blue Springs, MO; Dorothy McCauley, Libby Dyne and Barbara Garrett; two sons, Ellis Miles of Indianapolis and Bill Miles of Bardstown; a sister, Mayola Cecil of Loretto; a brother, Edwin Mattingly of Loretto; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral: noon Friday, Holy Name Catholic Church, 2914 S. Third St., with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son South Central Funeral Home, 2815 S. Fourth St., from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday. Expressions of sympathy: Mass of the Air.
