Violet Anderson, 101, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 1:26 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, in Fairhavens Christian Home, Decatur, IL.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Decatur, with Father Joseph Molloy officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with arrangements.
Violet was born February 24, 1916, in Wheaton, MN the daughter of Charles Cleveland Cleve and Matilda Tilly (Cawelti) Talkington. She married F. Robert Anderson on February 5, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1997. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Surviving is her daughter: Julie McGeehon (Mike) of Decatur; granddaughters: Jenny Douglass (Tony) and Holly Layton (Zach) all of Decatur; great-grandchildren: Emma Douglass, Reid Douglass, Lola Douglass, Hannah Layton, and Boden Layton; brother: Donald Talkington (Wanda) of Owensboro, KY, Cleve Talkington of Decatur, and Lloyd Talkington ( Esther) of Collierville, TN; sister: Lois Hale of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by husband, two sisters, and her brother.
Interment February 20, 2019.
